SMEs are individuals with deep knowledge of a specific business process or area of expertise. They should have excellent technical and analytical skills, experience in their area of expertise, and the ability to provide guidance and support to the project team.

A central place to gather Subject Matter Experts from various domains. Every user can see the Dashboard and find the person keeping the knowledge in the topic.
Example: In 700-engineers organization with offices across different timezones and with multiple teams responsible for specific product areas, it's impossible to know who keeps the knowledge in all parts of the system, e.g. Database internals or Networking. Thanks to our app, knowledge keepers and most experienced individuals are listed in a central place, easily accessible to everyone.

Dashboard - maintain a list of experts in one centralized place. Even without using the field on Issue View or Create, the Dashboard can be a go-to place when looking for knowledge required to fix the problem, or when starting a research.

When the experts are assigned, the comment is added and the experts are notified
after installing the app, you need to add the Subject Matter Experts custom field to the screens in projects where you want to use the field
you can do this by navigating to Jira Settings -> Issues -> Screens, and by modifying the specific screen

To navigate to Dashboard, find the link with the logo under Apps section in the main Jira navigation
How the Dashboard looks like
Add a new domain by clicking + next to Add a new domain
Remove the domain by clicking X and confirming in a modal
Add a new expert by clicking + next to domain name
Click on Subject Matter Expert field to edit it
Select the domain
Select the experts - you can choose multiple ones
When you click away, the field is saved, the comment is added and the experts are notified
